Strawberry Jam with Mint and Ginger Recipe
I made jam in the summer, according to a recipe from the Internet, and only now I am sharing with you the recipe and impressions! For the first preparation, I took 500 g of strawberries, and since a thickener was used, the amount of sugar was reduced compared to ordinary jam. It turned out fragrant and delicious!

Ingredients
  • 500gram Strawberries
  • 250gram Sugar
  • 10gram Gingerfresh
  • 10gram Mint3-4 twigs
  • 10gram Pectin“Gelfix” or other thickener, 5-10 g, according to the instructions on the package
Instructions
  1. Pick the strawberries, wash them, dry them and put them in a baking dish. Add half the sugar and leave for 1 hour to stand out the juice.
  2. Wash and dry 3-4 sprigs of mint. Separate the leaves, 10-15 pieces, or the amount – as desired and to taste. Prepare the ginger root. Cut a piece 2 cm (or more) long, and then peel.
  3. After the juice appears, mix the berries and put the dishes on medium heat. Add grated ginger and finely chopped mint.
  4. Mix well and bring to a boil. Cook, stirring, for 25-30 minutes.
  5. Then mix the remaining sugar with pectin (or another thickener for jam) and add to the jam. Mix well. The amount of added thickener should be determined in accordance with the instructions on the package.
  6. Cook until thickened, it will take 2-3 minutes. It is not recommended to insist longer, otherwise the pectin will lose its properties and the jam will remain liquid.
  7. When it cools down, pour into sterilized jars and cover with lids. After cooling, store in a cool place. Delicious jam with a pleasant taste and aroma! After cooling, it will finally thicken.
