  1. Cut the ham into cubes.
  2. Cut the bell pepper into cubes.
  3. Cut tomatoes into cubes. If you want, you can peel off the seeds and cut off only the walls, then the salad will turn out to be drier, and you will need a little more oil and vinegar. And you can cut tomatoes as they are, then they will give juice.
  4. Season the salad with salt and pepper. You can use any pepper you like. I like to add freshly ground pepper to the mixture. Add finely chopped garlic. Be guided by your taste, but there should not be a lot of garlic, it should give not so much sharpness as piquancy. Season the salad with olive oil and sprinkle with balsamic vinegar to taste.
  5. Gently mix the salad. Put lettuce leaves on a plate, put ham and vegetables on them and sprinkle with toasted white crackers. I baked cornbread crackers.
