  2. Preheat the oven to 220 °C. for the sauce, chop the garlic, chop it with a knife with a pinch of salt and Provencal herbs. Mix with tomatoes, juice and 120 ml of water. Season with pepper, salt and leave for the rest of the cooking time.
  3. For the meatballs, peel and chop the onion as small as possible. Fry it in 3 tablespoons of olive oil until golden brown, 7 minutes. Remove from heat and cool.
  4. Mix ground beef with fried onions and lightly beaten egg, season with salt and pepper, mix until smooth.
  5. Cover the baking sheet with baking paper. Lubricate your hands with olive oil and roll the same meatballs out of minced meat the size of a large walnut with cheese inside: first make a flatbread out of minced meat, put half a spoonful of cheese inside, connect the edges and gently roll into a ball.
  6. Place the meatballs on a prepared baking sheet at a distance from each other and bake in the oven for 15 minutes.
  7. Reduce the oven temperature to 170 °C. Put the meatballs with juice in a deep baking dish, pour over the tomato sauce and return to the oven for 15 minutes. Serve hot.
