I offer a very simple recipe for cooking green peas with bacon. This is a classic side dish of English cuisine. It is prepared quickly, can be used as a side dish or an independent dish.
Rinse the green peas from the freezer with warm water, let the excess drain.
Cut the onion into half rings. Pour olive oil into a frying pan, add butter, garlic. Lightly fry the onion over medium heat, add a little salt. Add the diced bacon. Lightly fry it so that it remains transparent and does not burn. Remove the garlic.
Add black pepper and red chili pepper to the bacon. Add the peas to the bacon.
Fry on high heat for a couple of minutes, stirring constantly. Add salt to taste.
Serve hot. If there is any doubt that the peas will not have time to cook like mine, boil it in salted water for 5 minutes.
