  1. Dough: pour carbonated water into a bowl, add sugar and salt and mix quickly.
  2. Pour in the vegetable oil. Mix it. Add flour and baking powder. I added flour in three steps, each time carefully kneading the dough. adding flour for the third time, adjust the amount of flour needed during the kneading process. The dough should be soft, homogeneous, not stick to the hands and surface.
  3. Knead the dough.
  4. Filling: Chop walnuts with a blender.
  5. Mix thick jam (I have plum jam) and chopped nuts in a bowl (leave about 2 tbsp.). decorate the top of bagels with chopped nuts). Mix thoroughly.
  6. Divide the dough into 2 parts. Roll a piece of dough into a ball, then roll it out in a circle (I worked with the dough on a silicone mat, there was no need to sprinkle the surface with flour and a rolling pin, the dough is very obedient and not sticky).
  7. Cut into 8 pieces. Put the filling on each one (about 1 full teaspoon).
  8. Wrap the bagel (so that the filling does not leak out, I always press the dough lightly with my fingers). Also do the second part of the test.
  9. Place the bagels (16 pieces) on a baking sheet covered with baking paper. If desired, brush the top with water / milk / yolk and sprinkle with chopped nuts. We send it to bake in a preheated 180 degree oven for 20-25 minutes (we focus on the ruddy top and the features of your oven).
  10. Remove the bagels from the oven and let them cool.
