Mantu with Mushrooms Recipe
For a lean New Year’s treat, prepare a manta with mushroom filling. Dough with flour from durum wheat enriches the taste and makes the dish healthy and dietary. And the oil with herbs and garlic will give a delicious flavor. On fast days, you can use butter or sour cream for the sauce.

  1. For the filling, fry the mushrooms on 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil, add finely chopped onion, season with salt and pepper and turn off the stove after 5 minutes. The filling cools down. When there is no fast, I add sour cream to the minced meat – 1-2 tablespoons.
  2. For the dough, mix water, 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil, 0.3 tsp salt and flour of hard varieties. The dough should not stick to your hands. Leave the dough for half an hour.
  3. Divide the dough into 8-10 parts and roll out into circles with a diameter of 15 cm. for rolling, it is more convenient to use ordinary wheat flour.
  4. Put the minced meat on the dough blanks and, lifting the edges up, pinch the dough.
  5. Grease the steamer form with oil and put the manta into it. Cook for 30-40 minutes for a couple.
  6. Mantoux can be prepared in advance, covered with a film and frozen for the future.
  7. Before serving, mix the remaining sunflower oil with chopped dill or parsley and crushed garlic. Add salt to taste. It will be very tasty if you add 50 grams of butter instead of vegetable oil. The oil should be mixed with herbs and garlic, frozen, and then put on hot mantas. You can also mix sour cream with herbs.
