Polish Meat Pie Recipe
This recipe was shared by a Polish girl, a friend of my aunt. She often prepares this cake for “Saturday gatherings” with friends or for the arrival of guests. For the most part, this is a filling that consists of several ingredients.

  1. Let’s start with the preparation of the filling. I use small white beans. Pre-boil one package of beans, following the recommendations on the package. It is soaked for 4 hours, and then cooked until ready for about 1.5 hours. In boiled form, it is perfectly stored in the refrigerator. Thus, it is convenient to use it during the week for several meals!
  2. Cut the cheese and sausage into small cubes. Finely chop the greens and olives.
  3. Mix all the ingredients of the filling, add salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Now we take the dough. Beat eggs, mayonnaise and sour cream. I do not advise you to neglect mayonnaise, because without it the dough will be more dense.
  5. Add the sifted flour mixed with soda and knead the dough. It should be sticky. The consistency resembles thick honey.
  6. Add the filling to the dough and mix until smooth.
  7. Poles prepare this pie in a rectangular shape. I took a bread baking dish (11×21 cm). Brush it with vegetable oil and sprinkle with flour. Put the resulting mass into the mold. It was almost complete. Therefore, if there is, it is better to take a larger mold, because my version is baked for a long time.
  8. Bake for 40-50 minutes in a preheated 180 degree oven. My tall cake was baked for about 60 minutes. Check the readiness with a wooden skewer, putting it to the bottom of the pie. Focus on the selected mold and its oven.
