In a thick-walled pan, heat the oil and fry a piece of Turkey on all sides. Add the chopped onion, garlic, tomatoes, salt, sugar, smoked paprika and Cajun spice mixture to the Turkey.
Tomatoes can be replaced with tomatoes in their own juice or ready-made tomato sauce, ketchup.
A little about spices. Cajun (or Creole) spice mix is very popular in the American South, especially in Louisiana. Its composition is very variable and can vary from 5 to 12 ingredients.
Here are two examples of the composition of this seasoning:
First option (5 spices):
1 tsp – paprika
1 tsp – dry garlic
1 tsp – salt
3/4 tsp – hot pepper
1/2 tsp – black pepper
The second option (8 spices), which is used in the recipe:
2 tsp – paprika
2 tsp – dry garlic
1 tsp – salt
1 tsp – black pepper
1 tsp – dry onion
1 tsp – Cayenne pepper
1 tsp – oregano
1 tsp – thyme
