I’ve been wanting to make this French dessert (cream caramel) for a long time, just as I was afraid. It turns out, nothing complicated. The ingredients are minimal, the result is a delicate pudding that melts in your mouth.

  1. Prepare the caramel. Pour sugar into a saucepan with a thick bottom and add lemon juice. At the very beginning, you can stir a little with a spatula until the sugar dissolves well, and then you do not need to touch the caramel, otherwise it will crystallize. As a result, you should get a real caramel.
  2. Pour the caramel into the prepared molds.
  3. Warm up the milk, but do not bring it to a boil, beat the eggs a little with sugar, pour the egg mixture, stirring continuously, into the milk in a thin stream, add vanilla (I also added a little cinnamon, but this is for an amateur) and whisk everything properly.
  4. Pour the custard into the molds on top of the caramel. Transfer the molds to a larger container and pour cold water into it. Pudding is cooked in a water bath in the oven at 175 degrees for 40 minutes.
  5. This is what the pudding looks like after we take it out of the oven. Chill it in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours.
  6. When the pudding is completely cooled, turn it over on a plate and you can enjoy this delicate dessert. Enjoy your meal!
