Cod in Mustard and Onion Marinade Recipe
What a new Year’s feast without fish and seafood dishes. I suggest that you, dear cooks, prepare a simple and home-made delicious dish of cod steaks for the festive New year’s table. The dish is good both cold and hot.

  1. Onions (2 PCs.) cut into feathers. Don’t get too small!
  2. Cut the canned olives into rings.
  3. Tomatoes (2 PCs.) pour boiling water, remove the skin.
  4. Cut tomatoes into chunks/cubes
  5. Add 4 tablespoons of vegetable oil to the pan, add the onion, and saute the onion until soft and light Golden brown. Next, add the sliced olives and tomatoes, add 1 tablespoon of mustard. The mixture is stirred.
  6. Then add 1 tablespoon of tomato paste.
  7. Add dry white wine (1/3 Cup), sweet paprika (1 teaspoon), salt, sugar and ground black pepper to taste. Simmer the vegetables until soft and the alcohol evaporates. Then add fresh parsley. Set aside the pan with the vegetables.
  8. Cod steaks (2 PCs.), total weight 350 gr. (the thickness of cod steaks is 2-2. 5 cm.) lightly add salt and pepper, then pan in flour.
  9. Fry the steaks on a hot fire until Golden brown. We will continue to bring the fish to readiness.
  10. Spread the vegetables in the pan along the sides and place the fried cod steaks in the middle of the pan. Cover the pan with a lid, put on a very low heat and bring the fish to readiness. This took about 10-15 minutes.
