Instructions
  1. How to make baked pineapple with cheese in the oven for a special occasion? Start by gathering the necessary ingredients. Choose a ripe pineapple and wash it thoroughly with cool water, including the green top. Allow the pineapple to drain any excess water. Preheat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius (356 degrees Fahrenheit).
  2. Peel and wash the carrots and onions, then dry them. Quarter the onions, and cut the carrots into small cubes.
  3. Rinse the chicken fillets under cool water and pat them dry with paper towels. Remove any excess fat, membranes, or veins from the meat, then cut the fillets into small pieces.
  4. Place the meat and vegetables in separate bowls. Sprinkle them with flour, ensuring they are well coated. Shake off any excess flour; a small colander can be useful for this.
  5. Heat the butter in a frying pan over medium heat. Add a bit of vegetable oil once the butter is almost melted. Fry the carrots and onions until the onions begin to brown, then transfer the vegetables to a plate. Fry the meat over high heat in the same oil until it develops a light crust. You may need to add more vegetable oil. Season the meat with salt, pepper, and spices.
  6. Combine the vegetables and meat in the frying pan, then pour in 4 tablespoons of water and reduce the heat to low. Mix everything thoroughly and simmer the meat, uncovered, for 1-2 minutes until the liquid has almost evaporated, and the meat is cooked and juicy.
  7. Prepare the pineapple by cutting it in half lengthwise, including the green top. Remove the tough core, as it won’t be needed. Ripe pineapples are easy to cut.
  8. Carefully scoop out the flesh without damaging the pineapple boat’s shape. Cut the pineapple flesh into pieces of the same size as the meat and leave any released juice in the pineapple body.
  9. Gently combine the pineapple pieces with the meat and vegetables.
  10. Fill one half of the prepared pineapple with the mixture, being careful not to overfill. Sprinkle finely grated cheese on top. Cover the pineapple body with foil, leaving the filling exposed to maintain its fresh appearance. Place the pineapple in a baking dish and transfer it to the preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius (356 degrees Fahrenheit) for approximately 25-30 minutes, using the top and bottom heat setting. Remove it from the oven when the cheese has melted and a golden crust begins to form.
  11. Serve the baked pineapple hot. This dish stands on its own, but you can garnish it with a touch of fresh herbs if desired. Enjoy your meal!
Recipe Notes

Please be aware that every oven is unique, and the temperature and cooking times may vary from those specified in the recipe.

You can use any heat-resistant baking dish for this recipe. If you opt for a silicone mold, there’s no need to grease it with butter or margarine. However, it’s advisable to lightly grease metal, ceramic, or glass dishes with vegetable oil to prevent the pastry from sticking.

Remember that all types of cooking oils have a smoke point, beyond which they start to burn and release potentially harmful substances, including carcinogens.

It’s crucial to select the right frying pan for your recipe to achieve the best results.

When it comes to choosing cheese for this dish, any type will work—whether it’s hard, semi-hard, or soft, like mozzarella. The key is to use tasty, high-quality cheese without milk fat substitutes that melts well.
