  1. First you need to prepare the filling. Grate the ham on a medium grater, you can cut into strips. Grate the cheese on a fine grater. Chop garlic and dill and mix with mayonnaise. The filling is ready
  2. We begin to braid the strands into our pigtails. Roll out the dough about 130-150 g into a rectangle 30 cm long and about 7 cm wide. Grease the middle of the rectangle with mayonnaise with garlic and dill, leaving the edges of the dough free.
  3. Put the ham on the mayonnaise. Spread the ham with cheese, also leaving the edges of the dough free.
  4. And now, lifting the edges of the dough, connect and blind them together.
  5. The first “strand” of the pigtail is ready. Push it aside and cover it so that the dough does not rise into the air.
  6. Similarly, make two more “strands”. Then lay the three strands next to each other and connect their ends from above, to each other.
  7. Braid the pigtails. Transfer to a greased baking sheet. Beat the egg and spread it on the pigtail. If desired, sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake in a preheated 180 degree oven until cooked, 20-25 minutes. It may take longer, it all depends on your oven.
  8. That’s the beauty of it. After baking, brush the pigtail with butter and let it stand
  9. And here is the cut pigtail. The filling can be completely different. Maybe even each strand has a different filling.
