  1. Pour water, vinegar, salt, bay leaf and black pepper into a saucepan. Put on the fire and bring to a boil.
  2. Cut the cod fillet into 2 cm wide pieces.
  3. Put the pieces of cod in the marinade and cook over low heat for 5 minutes. Drain the marinade. Put the fish in a separate large bowl.
  4. Add the chopped onion.
  5. Add the chopped pickles. Add vinegar, salt and sugar and mix gently. Refrigerate for 20 minutes.
  6. Add chickpeas and mayonnaise. Mix gently. You can add more mayonnaise, it all depends on your taste.
