This hearty, juicy and very pleasant-tasting salad belongs to German cuisine. Traditionally, in winter, it occupies an important place on Christmas tables in Germany and other Western European countries. All the ingredients are harmoniously matched, the salad turns out sooo interesting and delicious!
Prepare the ingredients for the salad. Pre-cook the potatoes, eggs and beets that are present in the original recipe. For piquancy, I took pickled beets, such as many housewives are preparing now. In my opinion, the taste has only won.
Peel the apple from the seeds and skin, cut into cubes and sprinkle with lemon juice.
Boiled potatoes and pickles cut into cubes. Fold the slicing into a bowl.
Cut the boiled egg like a potato, and finely chop the sweet red onion.
Cut the salted herring and pickled beetroot into cubes. Mix the slicing in one bowl.
Prepare a salad dressing from yogurt, mayonnaise and mustard. Pepper to taste and mix thoroughly. If it seems to you that there will be little salt in the salad, then add it. I didn’t salt it.
Pour the prepared dressing over the slicing and mix gently.
