  1. In the evening, pour three liters of cold water over the peas, add a teaspoon of soda and put it away in the cold until morning. In the morning, drain the peas, rinse them with cold water and put them in a bowl.
  2. Finely chop the onion. Heat a frying pan with vegetable oil, put the onion and fry until transparent, add sugar and fry for another 3 minutes. Add the tomato paste, mix well and fry for 4 minutes.
  3. Put the swollen peas in a frying pan. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Put the ribs on the peas.
  5. Pour 200 ml of boiling water. Turn down the heat, cover the pan with a lid and simmer for 30-35 minutes. Try the peas for softness. If you are satisfied with the softness and pre-boiled peas, remove the lid and dry the dish for a few minutes. If the peas do not seem soft enough, pour in a little more water and cook until the desired softness of the peas. I overcooked my peas a little.
