I met the recipe on the Internet and was very impressed. I realized that I would not rest until I tried this recipe. Yes, I got so carried away with tasting that now I cook this bread periodically, on weekends or holidays. In the original, the dish is called: garlic bread with mozzarella, Garlic bread with mozzarella. Although, it seems to me that it is still a flatbread… Never mind! The main thing is that it is extremely tasty, unrealistically fragrant, super gentle. And it’s not that difficult and not for long. Bread, of course, is not every day, but it’s worth a try.

  1. Mix egg, milk at room temperature, salt, sugar and melted (BUT not hot!) butter. Add the sifted flour and yeast.
  2. Kneading the dough. The dough turns out to be quite dense, but soft and not clogged with flour. Form a ball of dough, place it on a baking sheet covered with a silicone mat or a non-stick sheet, cover with a large cup and put it in the heat for 20 minutes. Prolonged proofing of the dough is not required. I’m doing SL. method: preheat the oven to 50 °, turn off the heat and put the dough in the oven.
  3. Mix the soft butter with the garlic passed through the press.
  4. Cut the mozzarella into half-ovals and squares about 3 mm thick and 2-2. 5 cm high. I use mozzarella for pizza. With the classics it turns out even better. In principle, they can replace any kind of cheese that melts well.
  5. From the dough that has come up, form a cake with a thickness of 2.5-3 cm. And make incisions along the entire surface (longitudinal and transverse), slightly retreating from the edges and up to half the thickness of the cake. That is, do not cut the dough to the end. Beauty doesn’t matter here! How it happens. Yes! You can already turn on the oven to warm up to 200 °.
  6. Brush the surface of the pie with butter and garlic.
  7. And then, with an ordinary tablespoon, once again walk through the depressions made earlier.
  8. Roll the cheese into half-ovals and insert it into the slot on the dough. (as in the photo)
  9. Insert cheese squares between the half-ovals. The photo should show and understand what is meant.
  10. Bake the bread in a well-heated oven at the above temperature for 18-20 minutes. The bread should be browned and the cheese should melt. (Be sure to take into account the features of your equipment!) Remove the bread from the oven and cool slightly, 5-7 minutes. (if, of course, you can resist the flavors)
