Pumpkin Patch Recipe
I offer you a recipe for a delicious pumpkin pie. It’s tender, juicy, just melts in your mouth. In the Balkans, a pie called pumpkin pie or bundleware (from the word Bundela – pumpkin) is popular. You can cook it with both Filo dough and pita bread, I will show you both options, who does not know, will not even distinguish where with what.

  1. Wash, peel and grate the pumpkin on a coarse grater. Add 100 g of sugar and cinnamon, if desired, you can also add spices to taste. Stir well and leave to infuse a little.
  2. For the filling, take the eggs, add sugar, vanilla sugar and beat a little with a whisk or mixer.
  3. Add milk, sunflower oil, lemon zest, flour and baking powder and mix everything well again.
  4. If you are going to cook Filo dough, take one sheet of dough, pour a little filling on it and spread a thin layer all over the dough with a brush.
  5. Cover with a second sheet of dough and grease again, cover with a third sheet and spread the filling again. Spread the grated pumpkin on top with a thin layer over the entire surface of the dough.
  6. Then carefully wrap the roll. Spread on a baking sheet greased with sunflower oil.
  7. If you are going to cook from pita bread, then we do everything exactly the same: cut out the pita bread along the width of the baking sheet, lubricate it with filling and spread the pumpkin on top. Wrap in a roll and spread on a baking sheet.
  8. When all the rolls are formed, lubricate them with the remaining filling on top, if it is not enough, you can add the juice that was extracted from the pumpkin to it.
  9. Then we will make punctures on top of the rolls with a fork so that hot air comes out when baking. Send it to a preheated 220 degree oven and bake for 30 minutes. If the oven bakes strongly, bake at a temperature of 200 degrees.
  10. Let the finished pumpkin cool down a little, if desired, you can sprinkle with powdered sugar, cut and serve with tea. It is tender, fragrant and very tasty. Enjoy your meal!
