I propose to cook very tasty Uzbek puff pastry “Katlama with cottage cheese and herbs”. A very interesting way of forming these cakes. They can be baked in the oven or fried in a frying pan. Tortillas are crispy on the outside, soft and flaky on the inside. Very tasty!
Add salt to the flour, mix well.
Add water and vegetable oil. Knead a non-sticky, soft dough. Wrap in polyethylene for 20 minutes.
Knead the dough, divide into 2 parts.
Roll out each part of the dough very thinly into a circle (1 mm thick).
Roll out the dough, smearing it with melted butter.
Sprinkle with cottage cheese.
Add finely chopped dill and salt to taste.
Make an incision in the middle.
Turn around in a circle.
You should get a big horn of dough with stuffing.
Pinch the wide part of the “horn”, covering the filling with dough.
Then turn the wide part down and, pressing with the palm of your hand, flatten the horn.
Cover the resulting snail with polyethylene for 10 minutes.
Then roll out into a flat cake 1.5 cm thick .
Put the cakes on a baking sheet, grease with egg, you can sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Bake at 180 degrees for 20-25 minutes.
These cakes turn out very tasty and warm, and cooled down.
They can also be fried in a frying pan with a small amount of oil on low heat under the lid.
You can also experiment with fillings to your taste. Very tasty with fried onions and herbs. Cheese + greens. Mashed potatoes.
