Strudel on a Potato Recipe

  1. First we need to prepare the potatoes. Clean, wash and cut lengthwise into 4 pieces.
  2. Cut onion into half rings, carrot into rings, and pepper into strips.
  3. Pour the oil into the cauldron and heat it up, put the onion with carrots and pepper. Cover and simmer until they are soft.
  4. Put it on top of the potatoes. So that the potatoes do not boil, we immediately salt them. Add the pepper mixture, stir and pour boiling water. The water level is about 2 cm higher than potatoes. Cover the cauldron with a lid and leave to cook on low heat.
  5. Now let’s move on to strudel. I will simply describe the process of preparing the dough. Nothing complicated. Mix 2 eggs with water and a pinch of salt. Gradually introduce flour and knead the dough. The dough should be elastic. It’s like dough for dumplings. Place it on a floured table.
  6. While the dough is resting a little, prepare the filling. Finely chop the dill.
  7. Grate cheese on a coarse grater.
  8. Divide the dough into two equal parts and roll each one in turn with a rolling pin into a very thin layer.
  9. Sprinkle with cheese and dill greens.
  10. Roll into a tight roll and cut diagonally into pieces about 2 cm thick .
  11. During this time, the potatoes will be cooked. Carefully place the strudel on top of the potatoes, slightly pressing it into the liquid.
  12. Fold tightly so that everything fits. Cover and cook until tender. It will take about 15 minutes. Water is absorbed into the dough, and they swell. The strudel tightly covers the potatoes. Turn it off and leave it on for 30 minutes.
  13. Carefully lay out the portion strudels and potatoes. Very tasty and fragrant-a hearty dish turned out. Enjoy your meal!
