German Easter Bread Recipe
Last year we celebrated Easter in Bavaria. I bought a traditional Easter bread at the bakery, similar to. Then I decided to cook at home – I found a recipe on a German website – the recipe is listed in the cherished notebook – a wonderful muffin!!! Of course, it’s not a cake – it’s dessert bread made for breakfast, but bread from the bakery stretched for 2 days! I want to share with you – Easter is coming soon, and I am sure this bread will take its rightful place next to the cakes.   1. For the yeast dough in warm milk, dissolve the yeast, half the sugar and 2 tablespoons of flour from the total amount.
  2. Whisk the remaining sugar, butter, a pinch of vanilla, egg, yolks and salt.
  3. Add the remaining flour. Enter the baking powder and knead the dough. Cover and put in a warm place for 40 minutes.
  4. Put 3 tablespoons of almonds and raisins in the preheated oven for 5 minutes.
  5. Add almonds and raisins to the dough, roll into a ball. Cover the dough and put it in a warm place for 1 hour, preheat the oven to 180.
  6. Place the parchment on a baking sheet. Put the dough formed in the form of bread on the parchment and make incisions.
  7. Whisk the yolk with milk and grease the top, put the bread in the oven and bake for 30 minutes.
  8. Almond petals – 1 tbsp.l. fry in a dry frying pan (required!!!). To make the bread warm, smear it with jam. The finished glaze (I made the glaze myself – I mixed powdered sugar with a small amount of hot water) is spread on jam. Sprinkle almond petals on top.
