  2. Finely chop the onion.
  3. Grate the carrots on a coarse grater.
  4. Buckwheat groats are sorted, washed and slightly dried.
  5. Next, prepare the broth or salted boiling water. Then lay the cast iron in layers: Vegetable oil, 1/3 onion, 1/3 carrot, 1/3 cabbage, 1/2 buckwheat and so on… The last layer is cabbage. After each layer of buckwheat, I put a small leaf of lavrushka and 3 peas of pepper. Pour in the broth or salted water. Cover tightly and put on maximum heat for 15 minutes. After that, open the lid, add spices to taste, mix. Put on a low heat and simmer until tender. About 20 minutes. if necessary, add water… P.S Do not open the lid for the first 15 minutes. I warn you right away that there is a lot of porridge! About half of a 5-liter pot. But we love her very much!
