Very tasty and hearty chops. It could replace dinner. It can be served with a salad of fresh vegetables or tomato sauce. Due to the viscosity, barley and potatoes retain their shape perfectly even without eggs.
Pearl barley should be soaked for at least 2 hours. Then boil until tender (40-50 minutes).
Separately boil the potatoes and carrots.
Cool the pearl barley and vegetables slightly and pass them through a meat grinder.
Fry the onion in vegetable oil until soft, add spices.
In the barley-vegetable beef, add the sauteed onion, finely chopped fresh herbs, soy sauce, if necessary, add salt to taste. Mix well, add a little flour (2-3 tablespoons) to make the mass more homogeneous and suitable for molding.
Form meatballs or cutlets, roll them in flour and fry over medium heat until golden brown.
