  1. Finely chop the candied fruits and pour brandy (rum, whiskey) for a couple of hours. You can leave it overnight. It is preferable to use orange, tangerine or lemon candied fruits. If you absolutely do not take alcohol in baking, replace it with hard-brewed tea.
  2. Add the sifted flour, sugar, salt, vanilla sugar, yeast and orange zest to the warm milk. There is nothing wrong with making sure that the zest is not bitter. Since flour from different manufacturers differs in quality, then all its quantity should not be added at once. You may have to adjust the flour weight individually. Knead a rather steep dough.
  3. Then add soft butter to the dough. Knead thoroughly. And last of all, add candied fruits to the dough. (together with the liquid) knead the dough for 5-7 minutes.
  4. The dough should be soft, tender and plastic. Put the dough in a bowl, tighten with cling film and put in the heat for 45-50 minutes.
  5. For the filling, mix the curd cheese with vanilla sugar. Curd cheese can be replaced with cream cheese, soft cheese or curd mass. In the latter case, vanilla sugar is not needed.
  6. Knead the dough after 45 minutes.
  7. Place the dough on a work surface lightly sprinkled with flour, beat off, divide into 12 (10…14) equal parts.
  8. We roll out each blank into a circle about 1 cm thick . Put a teaspoon of filling in the center of the circle, mold the edges, forming a bun.
  9. Place the rolls in a form lined with parchment. The diameter of the mold is 20-22 cm . On each bun (in the center) make a shallow (to the filling) cross-shaped incision. (cooking scissors or sharp knife) Cover the mold with a napkin or a thin towel and put it in the heat for 15-20 minutes.
  10. Cut the tangerine into small slices (along with the peel), blot the slices with a paper towel.
  11. Lubricate the rolls that have come up with milk. (one tablespoon) Insert a slice of tangerine into the cut of each muffin. Bake the buns in a preheated 180° oven for 20-22 minutes. Until it’s browned. Always take into account the features of your equipment.
  12. Place the buns on the grill, cool slightly, sprinkle with powdered sugar, decorate with pastry sprinkles. You’re finished!
