Instructions
  1. Beat the eggs with sugar and vanilla into a fluffy mass.
  2. Add vegetable oil, whisk again. Then add flour mixed with salt and baking powder. Knead a soft, elastic, pleasant to the touch dough.
  3. For the filling, peel the apples, grate them on a coarse grater. It is advisable to take sour apples. Put it on a small fire so that the juice will stand out from the apples. As soon as the liquid appears, add jam mixed with starch and semolina to the apples. Mix well, cook, stirring, until thickened (a couple of minutes).
  4. Divide the dough into 3 parts: one larger and 2 smaller.
  5. The part of the dough that is larger, roll out into a layer according to the size of the mold (I have 20 * 30 cm). Put it in a greased form.
  6. Put it on the dough and smooth the filling.
  7. The remaining two parts of the dough are also rolled out according to the size of the mold. Cover the filling with one part of the rolled dough.
  8. And together with the remaining rolled pieces of dough, cut into strips.
  9. Lay the strips on the cake criss-cross.
  10. Bake the pie in a preheated 180 degree oven for about 40 minutes until golden brown. Focus on your oven. The finished cake is allowed to cool completely and only after that it can be cut. If desired, you can sprinkle with powdered sugar.
  11. A pleasant, cozy tea party with family and friends on cold autumn evenings!
  12. Bon appetit.
