Raw Blackcurrant with Sugar Recipe
For this preparation, I grind black currant berries in the bowl of a combine, and then add sugar. In the finished form, the current partially remains in the form of pieces. Jars of currants should be stored in a cool place, preferably in the refrigerator. Today I just opened one jar and will show you what the dish looks like five months after cooking!

Ingredients
- 1 kg Black currant
- 1,5 kg Sugar 1:1 or 1:1.5
Instructions
- Sort the berries, wash and dry them on a cotton cloth.
- Grind in the bowl of a combine and cover with sugar in a ratio of 1:1.5 (or 1:1).
- Mix well and leave for a few hours. At this time, prepare the jars: wash, sterilize and cool.
- Spread the resulting mass into cold jars, sprinkle sugar on top with a layer of 1 cm, along the neck. At this time, lower the lids into boiling water, boil them and close them with hot water. I close them with screw caps. Store the jars in a cool place, preferably in the refrigerator.
- The aroma and color of currants are preserved!
- The density of the mass can be different, depending on the ripeness and juiciness of the berries.
