Fish in Poppy-Oat Breading Recipe
We tried this dish for the first time in Turkey. Although I don't like fish at all, but I liked the taste of this treat and my whole family! Very quickly fried in a boiling deep-fry, the inside remains indescribably tender and juicy, and the crispy crust adds additional flavor notes. I hope you like it!

Cook Time 40 minutes
Ingredients
- 500 gram Pangasius
- 2/3 glass Oat flakes
- 1/2 glass Poppy
- 2 piece Egg
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp Black pepper
- 300 ml Vegetable oil
Instructions
- Cut the fish fillet into portions, do not mince it too much - so that when frying the fish retains its juiciness. Add salt and pepper to taste.
- In a coffee grinder, grind the oat flakes. Transfer to a plate.
- Add the poppy (it can also be crushed if desired). Mix the ingredients. Add a little salt to the breadcrumbs.
- Beat the eggs a little with a fork. Preheat the fryer well. This is important! When releasing the fish into the insufficiently heated oil, excess fat will be absorbed! Dip the prepared pieces into the egg mass
- Then roll in the poppy-oat mixture. Repeat this procedure again - again dip in the egg, then in the breading. Shake off excess breadcrumbs. Immediately put it in a frying pan with a hot deep-fry.
- Quickly fry until golden brown. Do not over-dry the fish! It is fried very quickly!
- Place the finished pieces of fish on paper towels to remove excess oil.
- We serve the dish hot with your favorite side dish-potatoes, pasta, rice.
