Herring Salad with Peas and Cranberries Recipe
Salted, spicy or pickled herring is one of the most democratic and at the same time delicious dishes. It will always make a great snack. Together with black bread and cucumbers, herring is considered a classic snack, and with boiled potatoes - one of the most popular dishes.

Salad
- 1 piece Herring
- 1/2 pieces Green peas (canned)
- 2 pieces Potatoes (boiled)
- 2 tablespoons Cranberries
- 2 twigs Green Onion
- 1.5 tablespoons Soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon Lemon zest
Dressing
- 1 tablespoon Sunflower oil
- 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
- 1/4 teaspoons Salt
- 1/2 teaspoons The mixture of peppers
- 1 pinch Sugar
Instructions
- Peel potatoes boiled in a uniform in advance and cut into rings 1 cm thick. Place the potato rings on a platter and pour over the soy sauce.
- Herring fillet cut into pieces in 1cm, put on top of the potatoes. If you have a herring purchased and salty, try to soak the herring in milk, tea or plain water. Fish will quickly find the desired taste. It takes 4-5 hours and three times to change the liquid.
- Put green peas on the herring. Chop the green onions and put them on the green peas.
- For refueling, you need to mix sunflower homemade (market) oil, lemon juice, a mixture of peppers and sugar. It is the homemade fragrant, fragrant oil that gives you the taste and aroma of herring. Try the sauce to your taste.
- Garnish the salad with cranberries (cranberries, currants, pomegranate). Pour over the dressing.
- If desired, sprinkle with lemon zest, garnish and serve.
