Chinese Broccoli "Guy Lan" Recipe
Gai Lan - in China, this is the name of a plant that looks and tastes very similar to broccoli. I liked this dish for its versatility. You can eat it as an independent dish, or you can serve it for dinner with a side dish, for example, with rice, it will also be very tasty!

Ingredients
- 3 slices Ginger
- 2 cloves Garlic
- 200 gram Mushrooms
- 2 tablespoons Semi-sweet white wine
- 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon Sesame seeds
- 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon Starch
- 2 pinches Thyme
- A mixture of spices
Instructions
- Peel the ginger and garlic and finely chop.
- Thinly sliced broccoli.
- In a preheated frying pan, fry the garlic and ginger in vegetable oil for 1 minute.
- Add the mushrooms and fry for another 3 minutes (I had frozen honey mushrooms, actually any mushrooms will do)
- Then add the broccoli and fry for another 5 minutes.
- Dilute starch in 2 tablespoons of water.
- Next to the broccoli and mushrooms, add soy sauce, wine, diluted starch, pepper mixture, mash a couple of pinches of cumin. Stir, let the sauce thicken a little and remove from the heat. Then put everything on a platter, sprinkle with sesame seeds and you can serve.
- The dish is equally delicious in hot, warm and cold form!
