Rice with Broccoli in Chinese Recipe
In this dish I tried fish sauce for the first time. Unusual, of course, for an amateur, but piquant and interesting. This sauce is often used in Asian cuisine. However, if you haven't found a fish sauce or you don't like it, then add finely chopped anchovies or a piece of herring to the heated onion oil.

Ingredients
- 250 gram Brown sugar
- 200 gram Broccoli
- 1 piece Leek
- 2 cloves Garlic
- 0.5 teaspoons Ginger
- 4 tablespoons Pine nut oil
- 2 teaspoons Sauce (fish)
- 2 teaspoons Soy sauce
- 0.5 teaspoons Brown sugar
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- For this dish, I used brown long-grain rice.
- Boil the rice in salted water until tender, as indicated on the package.
- Meanwhile, lower the broccoli into boiling water and cook for 3 minutes, then discard in a colander.
- Fry finely chopped onion and garlic with ginger in walnut oil until transparent.
- Pour in brown sugar, add soy and fish sauces and mix.
- Add broccoli, stir, heat for 1 minute and remove from heat.
- Arrange the rice on plates, add a little broccoli on top, pour the resulting dressing.
