Terrine of Minced Meat and Cabbage Recipe
A very juicy and satisfying casserole from the oven made from simple winter products. The recipe is taken from a German culinary magazine. The whole family was delighted, although at first I personally had some doubts. Try to cook.

Ingredients
- 500 gram Minced meat pork, beef or mixed
- 700 gram Cabbage
- 2 pieces Onions
- 100 gram bacon
- 1 tablespoon Tomato paste
- 3 teaspoons Mustard
- 1 piece Chicken egg
- 3 tablespoons Vegetable oil
- Thyme
- Salt
- Black pepper
Instructions
- In vegetable / olive oil, fry 1 onion, diced, together with cabbage, cut into strips. Close the lid and leave to simmer for 10-12 minutes.
- Seasonings for minced meat: onion, chopped with a mixer, tomato paste, mustard, salt, pepper, egg.
- Advice from the magazine: - the classic seasoning for minced meat is mustard, ground red sweet paprika and tomato paste; - original dressing: cinnamon, cumin, coriander, chili, curry; - a drop of balsamic or soy sauce will give a unique "note". Experiment according to your taste! Add seasonings to the minced meat and mix thoroughly.
- Turn on the oven to warm up. Put the minced meat and cabbage in a cake pan, greased with butter, in the following order: minced meat, cabbage, minced meat on top, cabbage, minced meat. (Minced meat should preferably be divided into 3 parts beforehand: 2 - equal and the third - slightly less.) The shape is small: 11 * 30 or a volume of about 1.3 liters.
- Cover the mold with foil. And bake at a temperature of 200 * C for 35 minutes.
- For garnish (this is my option): peel potatoes, cut into slices, put in a mold, add salt, sprinkle with olive oil and sprinkle with dried rosemary, as you like. Send the potatoes to the oven for baking.
- When the terrine is in the oven for 30 minutes, fry the bacon in a dry frying pan.
- When the fat has melted, add the thyme.
- Remove the terrine from the oven, remove the foil and place the bacon and thyme on top. Bake without foil for another 20-25 minutes. In the original recipe, it was necessary to fry 1 more onion, diced together with bacon! If you want-you can add! Serve the terrine with potatoes and rosemary.
