This bread in Scotland used to be baked on the eve of the feast of St. Michael, on September 29, when all the grain was removed. Bread was traditionally baked by the eldest daughter in the family from the grains of the fresh harvest. A mixture of different grains was used for “Struan”: rye, oats, barley, wheat. The grains were pre-ground and soaked in water or milk. Then they baked bread, and in the morning they carried it to the church to receive the blessing of the priest, who asked St. Michael for a plentiful harvest.
A cake on kefir with raspberries and coconut shavings is an air cake. Raspberries go well with this dough. It seems to me that you could add a little red dye to the dough and you would get a real red velvet pie))
This is my second recipe with the Jamaica Jerk marinade – the first was pork. Let me remind you that it is based on a combination of herbs, soy sauce and spices such as nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves and cayenne pepper. For chicken, the spice composition is slightly different, but the main components remain unchanged.
I bake breaded strips in the oven. Chicken fillet must be marinated. Therefore, the strips are very soft and juicy inside and with a crispy cheese crust on top.
Soup with the strange name “Cullen Skink” is one of the iconic dishes of Scottish cuisine. A combination of fish, potatoes, milk and cream, classic for the Nordic countries. Serve this delicious soup for lunch to your family on a cold autumn day.
Broccoli soup with sweet potatoes and chicken can be safely attributed to proper and healthy nutrition. It is light, low-calorie and very useful. Even those who hate broccoli eat it, as a rule, with great pleasure. Yes, to be honest, broccoli is not felt there at all. The soup turns out to be slightly sweet due to the sweet potato, so if you want, you can add a little acid to it – lemon juice, white wine vinegar or a small tomato will perfectly cope with this task.
