Bright as the sun, sweet and a little tart from orange peel... Delicious cake for home tea will be even better the day after cooking, when completely soaked in syrup.

  1. Remove the zest from one orange, cut the orange in half and squeeze the juice out of it. Should get 1/3 Cup.

  2. Mix orange and lemon juice, sugar and salt in a saucepan. Cut the remaining oranges into thin slices. Lower the oranges in a saucepan, bring everything to a boil and cook for 5-7 minutes. Remove the oranges with a slotted spoon, continue to boil the syrup for another 10-15 minutes until about half a Cup is left.
