"Chushka-Burek" Recipe
Chushka Burek translates from Bulgarian as a pie with pepper. The pie, it turns out, consists only of dough with sweet, fragrant fried pepper. The filling is traditionally made from cheese, if there is no high-quality cheese, you can cook it from cottage cheese, just salt it well. You can bake in the oven, or you can pan in breadcrumbs and fry in a frying pan. It turns out incredibly delicious! In the filling, if desired, you can also add garlic and herbs. Cook, and this dish will become your favorite!

Ingredients
- 1 kilogram Bulgarian pepper
- 300 gram Bryndza Cheese can take cottage cheese
- 3 pieces Chicken eggs
- Milk
- 5 tablespoons Flour wheat / Flour
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Wash the peppers and bake in the oven at 200 degrees until cooked, about 20-25 minutes, I usually turn them over to the other side so that they are evenly baked. Leave in the oven for 20 minutes, then remove and peel.
- If you put cheese, then do nothing, and if cottage cheese, then salt it well.
- Mix eggs with milk and whisk with a fork. You can add a little salt, but do not over-salt, because cheese or cottage cheese is already salty. You can add your favorite herbs.
- Grease the baking dish with sunflower oil, take the peeled pepper, roll it in flour and put it in a mold. And do this with each piece of pepper, forming a layer of dough.
- Spread a layer of cheese or cottage cheese on top, then roll the pepper in flour again, forming the top layer. Pour in the milk-egg mixture. Bake at 200 degrees for 30 minutes.
- The dish turns out delicious both hot and cold. Serve, sprinkled with herbs to taste. Enjoy your meal!
