Bring sugar and water to a boil. Cut the orange into 0.5 cm thick slices. Put it in the boiling syrup and cover with a lid. At first it may seem that the syrup is not enough, but the orange will soon go limp, give juice and everything will be fine. Reduce the heat to low and cook at a low simmer for 2 hours. During this time, the orange slices will become soft and translucent. Put the finished slices on the grill to drain the syrup, and leave on the table for 2-3 days, sometimes turning the slices. And if candied fruits are needed urgently, then put the grill on a baking sheet and put it in the oven, preheated to 100 degrees. for 20-25 minutes. Ready-made candied fruits become elastic, but flexible, almost do not stick to your hands.
To make them more festive, dip each slice in the melted chocolate and let it harden. You will get delicious natural candies.
