- Bring to a boil, reduce the heat and simmer all together for 1.5-2 hours, stirring occasionally. When the meat is soft and the vegetables are blended into a single sauce, the dish is ready. Add the sour cream, bring to a boil and remove from the heat.Adding sour cream is not necessary, it tastes like soup. Some people like it with sour cream, some without it.
