Onions in cooking are used in raw, boiled, fried, pickled and salted types. Although to preserve all the useful properties, minimal thermal exposure is recommended. Onions can be both a flavor seasoning for the main dish (and it is combined with meat, fish, rice, potatoes, flour products, cottage cheese, and other vegetables), and the basis of the recipe. Many national cuisines have their own “branded” culinary products, in which onions can be called a key ingredient: French onion soup, British onion pie, etc. There are some culinary tricks that will allow you to cook this product (or a dish based on it) as tasty as possible: If you add a little granulated sugar to the oil during frying, the onions will brown better. So that the chopped onion does not burn during sauteing, before sending it to the frying pan, you should roll the “straw” in flour. Then it will simply acquire a reddish hue. Onions can be added to minced meat not only to improve the taste, but also to extend the shelf life of the meat part. To get rid of onion bitterness in the manufacture of salads, raw onions are slightly scalded with boiling water, and hands and knife are smeared with wet salt.
When choosing onions, preference should be given to dense clean heads, without damage, holes and stains. The sweetness-bitterness of a vegetable depends not only on the variety, but also on the length of daylight in the place of cultivation (southern onions are considered sweeter), the mineral content of the soil, the softness of the climate, the abundance of precipitation, etc. For example, with a large amount of annual precipitation, sulfur is actively washed out of the soil, which creates prerequisites for growing a sweeter vegetable. However, in general, it is believed that white varieties have a stronger flavor and are better suited for filling pies, red and purple ones have a sweet taste and are well combined in salads and marinades, and the Spanish variety is softer and sweeter, as well as onions with yellow–brown husks are better suited for frying.
Turkey with vegetables in a pot is very easy to prepare. Any dish cooked in pots in the oven turns out to be very juicy and fragrant. The meat is tender, and the vegetables are soft. Cooking and serving it in a pot makes the dish festive, so you can cook it not only for dinner for the whole family, but also for a New Year’s feast!
If you are an opponent of animal proteins and salads with mayonnaise, then I think you will like this salad. This salad can also diversify your New Year’s table.
Bright healthy side dish in oriental style. Rice is cooked the longest in the recipe, the rest is done very quickly! We cook in parallel with the main product, for example, I have chicken.
The salad turns out delicious, satisfying, thanks to the fried vegetables, it has a soft sweet taste. Cucumbers and onions crunch pleasantly. Despite the simplicity of cooking, this salad is suitable for family dinners and festive feasts. It can be an independent dish, or it can serve as a side dish, for example, to fish.
I decided to cook the two remaining turnips, white and yellow, tastier, and a stuffed version with baking in the oven is ideal for them! Chopped mushrooms and onions are supplemented with sour cream “cap”. It turned out delicious, but there was a slight bitterness inherent in turnips. In this way, you can stuff and bake radish or rutabaga. Take the number of products for minced meat, focusing on the size of the prepared vegetables.
It is prepared quite simply, but it turns out delicious, beautiful, festive. As a filling, you can use whatever you like. Today I have pickled pears and tomatoes with garlic, cheese and dill.
When you prepare a salad for the festive table, put aside a couple of spoons of peas. You can prepare such a ruddy snack from muffins with a cheese crust.
Something hot is always served at the New Year’s table. I offer you a delicious version of cooking festive meat. It turns out very fragrant and beautiful.
Each country probably has its own potato salad, because it is one of the most commonly used root vegetables. It’s always delicious and satisfying, and adding one or two new products only enriches it. In the Czech Republic, this salad is prepared for Christmas and served with carp. Delicious, inseparable tandem of Czech cuisine, try to recreate and enjoy.
