In culinary and household terms, sugar is called sucrose – an ordinary food sweetener that is obtained by processing sugar cane or sugar beet.
The white color of sugar is achieved during refining, but at the same time its individual crystals remain colorless. Many varieties of sugar contain different amounts of vegetable juice – molasses, which gives the crystals different shades of white color.
Sugar is an indispensable ingredient in many drinks, dishes, confectionery and bakery products. It is a familiar additive to coffee, cocoa and tea; confectionery creams, ice cream, icing and sweets cannot do without it. As a good preservative, white sugar is used in cooking jam, making jelly and other products from fruits and berries. Today, white sugar can be found almost everywhere, even where it is not expected to be found. For example, it may end up in low-fat diet yogurt or sausages, as well as in the manufacture of canned meat.
White sugar on sale is in the form of granulated sugar and refined sugar in pieces. Granulated sugar is packed in bags of different capacity, usually from one to fifty kilograms. Dense polyethylene bags are used, inside of which a film is additionally stretched to protect the contents from moisture and the spillage of crystals. Refined products are packed in cardboard boxes. The high hygroscopicity of white sugar causes certain requirements for its storage. The room where the product is located must be dry, protected from temperature fluctuations. Storing it at high humidity will lead to the formation of lumps. Sugar has the ability to absorb foreign odors, so you should not keep it near products with strong flavors.
White sugar is very high in calories – almost 400 kcal per one hundred grams of the product, and its composition consists entirely of carbohydrates. Therefore, when dieting, it is recommended to limit the use of this product in its pure form (for sweetening coffee or tea) and in the form of various sugar-containing drinks, cakes, cookies, etc.
Perhaps someone considers autumn a sad time. And it seems to me that autumn is a generous time, and it is also very colorful. And it’s not just the red-yellow-orange landscape outside the window, a huge number of colorful vegetables and fruits ripen in autumn, which means that it’s time to get ready. Spicy jelly from homemade grapes with the addition of cinnamon and anise is obtained with a rich taste and beautiful color.
Lush, delicious, slightly layered buns. Soft, fluffy dough! These buns just melt in your mouth! The fragrance spreads through the house, calling everyone to the kitchen! Cook, pamper your loved ones!
The recipe, of course, is primarily designed for children. My children, for example, do not like cottage cheese in any dishes. But they ate these pancakes for both cheeks. Of course, they like to serve “on a stick” and with chocolate icing – everything that resembles ice cream. And the apple added to the dough does not feel curd in this dish at all. I advise you to prepare this wonderful dessert!
Today I want to share with you a recipe for an unrealistically tender, soft, like fluff, yeast pie with minced meat. A very satisfying, fragrant, juicy pie turns out! Try to cook, it’s very tasty!
When it’s cold and damp outside, I want the house to be warm and cozy… Homemade cakes, in this case, will be very useful. I suggest baking incredibly tender, lush, delicious cherry buns on custard yeast dough. Try it, I hope you will like these buns as much as my family!
A great dessert for those who love citrus fruits and cottage cheese. Refreshing and reminiscent of a Mojito cocktail. Why not? It’s very hot here… This dessert is just right! Let it become a symbol of the “Indian Summer”! Girls, for us!
Everyone knows how difficult it is to feed children with vegetables. But this drink will appeal, first of all, to little fidgets. Delicious, healthy, with a light and pleasant aroma, pastries will be good for breakfast, lunch and dinner. In my opinion, for those who follow the figure, it will also be useful. Pregnant and nursing mothers will not refuse this. I’m making a drink…
I’ve been wanting to make this salad for a long time, but I doubted it. Today I decided, and I liked the taste so much that now it’s one of my favorite salads!
