- In a saucepan, combine sugar, cocoa powder, starch, vanilla and salt. Pour in the milk and mix to avoid lumps. Put the saucepan on a slow fire and cook, stirring, until bubbles appear. The mixture should be slightly thickened by this time. Remove from heat and cool. Pour the ice cream mixture into the molds and put it in the freezer for 4 hours.
