Fatty pieces of salmon (the abdominal part) are always used for salting, since useful unsaturated fatty acids will not be oxidized as much as if I cooked/baked them. You can salt the fish in your favorite way. It is preferable to take fat pieces of fish for this recipe in order to balance the taste of lean shrimp. In the case of salted fish, it can be pre-soaked for 30-50 minutes in cold water, changing it periodically.
Carrots, potatoes and onions are cleaned. We cut the potatoes into several parts (about the thickness of the diameter of the carrot). Cook the carrots and potatoes for 15 and 20 minutes, respectively. It is important that the carrots are not overcooked and retain their sweet taste. We cool it without broth, which contains a lot of vegetable macro-and microelements after cooking. It can be used to prepare other dishes.
Cook the shrimp according to the instructions on the package, if they are raw. We clean them from the shell and the "intestinal vein". Marinate the shrimp in finely chopped onions with the addition of soy sauce (1 tablespoon is usually enough) for 1 hour (or longer) in the refrigerator. Lovers of spicy food can add black pepper or mustard. In this version of the recipe, I did not add them.
We cook eggs in our favorite way. The cooled eggs are cleaned and cut in half.
Note: since I cooked this dish twice for two servings, I marinated half a portion of shrimp with half an onion.
Note: In my case: the eggs boil well, and then cook in slowly cooling hot water for 9 minutes (without electric heating). I cool it in cold water with a periodic change to a fresh portion.
The chilled potatoes are the first layer on the plate. If desired, you can crumble it. We cut the chilled carrots into thin rings and decorate the plate with it. Marinated shrimps are placed in the center and egg halves are placed around them, on which pieces of salmon are laid out (without skin). Shrimp with potatoes are poured with cold-pressed oil. Note: The salad is prepared in the American style, where the ingredients are cut into large pieces and not mixed into a homogeneous mixture. Vegetable oil with soy sauce is used as a dressing. This recipe is one of the examples of a salad when boiled vegetables do not need to be mixed with mayonnaise, as is observed in many conventional recipes.
