Tonic hot drink consists of natural Apple juice with the addition of grapefruit pulp, which gives a slight bitterness, and fragrant spices. Warming soft drink is ideal for those who like to celebrate new year's holidays in the fresh frosty air.
For the drink, I used home-made concentrated Apple juice. Remove the zest from the grapefruit with a fine grater, without affecting the white layer of the peel. Fresh ginger root also grate on a small grater-you will need 1 tbsp.
In a saucepan, bring the Apple juice and water to a boil, add the ginger, grated zest of one grapefruit, cinnamon stick and star anise. Cook on low heat for 8-10 minutes. Then strain through a sieve (spices are no longer needed).
Peel the grapefruit, break into slices, separate the flesh from the films. In a high glass, grind the grapefruit pulp with an immersion blender until smooth.
In a saucepan with juice, pour the crushed grapefruit pulp, add honey. Drink warm up, but do not boil.
