- I picked up these apples in September, in a clean place near an abandoned house while walking with the dogs. Bright, red and smooth. They lay in the kitchen until December and were well preserved. I washed the apples and cut them into four pieces. I didn't remove the core. I poured water and boiled the apples to a boil. Added rowan.
