- Prepare all the necessary products. If the barley was not supported previously in water for 2-3 hours, then offer to cook it this way. First, rinse the grits. Then cover with cold water and put on the fire. After the contents of the pan boil for 1-2 minutes, drain the hot water and pour again with cold water, a little salt and cook until tender.
- While the meat is cooking, finely chop the onion, grate the carrots on a coarse grater and cut the tomatoes into small cubes. In a frying pan, which already starts quite a bit to brown the meat first, send the onion, fry for a few minutes, then carrots - also cook a couple of minutes. Last of all, put the tomatoes and garlic, simmer until the tomato slices are a little soft.
- Add hot (a must! add water, cover the pan with a lid and simmer for 20 minutes. Then add sour cream and boil for 2-3 minutes. Add finely chopped herbs (any that you like-parsley, dill, cilantro) and simmer for 2-3 minutes. Then add to the pan with chicken-sour cream-vegetable mixture is ready barley, pre-washed with hot water. Cook for a couple of minutes, cover the dishes with a lid and leave to languish for 5 minutes.
