- Add cauliflower to potatoes and carrots. Add salt and pepper with ground black pepper to taste, add water, about 1/2 cup. Put the vegetable mixture in a frying pan and simmer until the potatoes and carrots are soft. Cabbage, if desired, can be stewed until Al dente. I want to pay attention, I did not add onions to the vegetable mixture. I cook this side dish without adding onions. If desired, you can add onions.
