- Put the pearl barley in the chicken broth, bring to a boil and cook for 20 minutes. Add the potatoes and continue cooking for 15 minutes. Then transfer the overcooked carrots and onions, plums, apple, chicken meat to the pan and cook for another 10 minutes. Serve hot with sour cream. Enjoy your meal!!!
