These rolls can be prepared as an appetizer for beer or served as part of a snack plate with fish platters. By changing the amount of salt and the composition of spices, you can even turn them into an elegant appetizer for white wine.
Defrost the squid, then remove the innards and films.
Cut off the part with "wings". It is not necessary, this part of the squid can be boiled and used in a salad, for example.
And cut the straight part so that you get a flat piece and beat it off slightly with a hammer.
Mix salt, smoked paprika and hot red pepper.
Sprinkle this mixture over the squid fillet and roll it up.
Wrap each roll tightly in foil and wrap the edges like "candy".
Bring the water to a boil in a saucepan, boil the rolls straight in foil for about 10 minutes. Then remove from the water, allow to cool to room temperature, and put in the refrigerator overnight to allow the rolls to cool completely, fix the shape, and soak in salt and spices.
Remove the foil from the cold rolls and cut them into pieces.
