I never thought that I would post a recipe for "Herring under a fur coat" somewhere, so many things were invented on this topic. But I came across an interesting idea and could not resist. Classic new year's table in the original, buffet interpretation. I must say that there are no specific proportions here, it all depends on the number of prepared boats and their volume. The taste of the salad does not suffer from such a feed, but rather becomes more interesting.
Wash the potatoes and boil in the skin until tender. Eggs also cook until tender and cool.
We wrap the washed beets and carrots in foil and bake them in the oven at 180 C until ready. we check the readiness by stabbing them with a knife. Ready-made vegetables are taken out and immediately unfold, let them cool.
Peel the onion and finely chop it. Add the chopped dill, salt, pepper and sprinkle with rice vinegar. Stir and let the onion marinate.
With potatoes, drain the water, cool slightly so that it does not burn your hands. Clean and knead so that there are no lumps.
The prepared mold (I have a box of yogurt) is covered with film.
Put the mashed potatoes and distribute it in the form.
Carefully pull out the potato boat and put it to cool. We do this with the remaining potatoes, try to work quickly until the potatoes are cold.
Grate the beets, carrots and eggs on a small grater.
Cut the herring and remove the bones and skin. Cut into small pieces and mix with pickled onions.
Carefully grease the potato boats with a small amount of mayonnaise and spread the first layer of herring with onions.
Next, lay out a layer of carrots, eggs, beets, and carefully coat the layers with mayonnaise.
On top of the beetroot, make a mayonnaise grid and decorate as desired.
