Holiday Casserole in Bacon Recipe
Once, on a Sunny day, on the Internet I saw a very beautiful serving of the second dish and immediately wanted to cook this beauty. I searched for a long time for a suitable recipe and eventually made a mix of three. The guests came just familiar with the family and the dish was liked by all ages that asked for supplements. I really hope that it will please you as well.
Servings 4
Cook Time 80 minutes
Ingredients
- 250 gram bacon
- 400 gram Minced meat better mix, but this time I made it out of Turkey
- 1 piece Onion
- 800 gram Potatoes
- 3 tablespoons Tomato paste
- 150 gram Cheese hard
- 2 tablespoons Flour wheat / Flour
- 3 cloves Garlic
- Seasoning in my case, Italian herbs and chicken seasoning,to taste
- 1 bunch Greens parsley and dill
Instructions
- Peel the onion, cut into cubes and fry.
- Layer of potatoes - Wash the potatoes, peel and chop them on a large grater. Wring Add the flour, spices and half the fried onions. I do not salt (!) since the bacon is already salty and will be too salty.
- Minced meat layer - Mix the minced meat with the remaining onion, add tomato paste and spices. I also added 2 cloves of garlic passed through the press. Do not salt (!) because there is enough salt in the bacon.
- Layer of cheese - three cheese on a fine grater. I added a clove of garlic, but you can skip that. Set aside some cheese for sprinkling at the end. (+chopped greens)
- We collect our beauty. Put the bacon in the form so that the ends hang down, so that we can wrap everything up. 1-Layer of potatoes (half) 2-layer-cheese (whole) 3-layer of minced meat ( whole) 4-layer the last half of the potatoes
- I always cook for the whole family, I bring my grandparents to try, so I multiply the ingredients 2-3 times and try to bake in different forms. In all cases, it turned out with a Bang. One only nuance-the height, if the shape is high enough, just add to the baking time of 10 minutes extra. Personally, I really liked how it turned out in a pot-beautiful and immediately portioned. * Everything is Packed in foil and sent to a preheated 195-200C for 35-40 minutes.
- We take out our beauty from the foil, sprinkle with grated cheese with herbs and send it to the oven for 20 minutes without the foil (we make a time correction if necessary, since the ovens are different)
- Remove from the oven and allow to cool.
- As not much will cool down, you can choose from the form. As I said, it seems to me that the best thing is to bake in small portion molds.
- Sprinkle with fresh green onions if desired and serve. Bon appetit.
