Curd Doughnuts "Funny balls" Recipe
Today I suggest you try these delicate donuts with me - what else are they good for, the fact that they are offered two cooking options - in the oven and deep-fried. I have prepared both options, which one you choose, decide for yourself!
Servings 10
Cook Time 50 minutes
Ingredients
- 200 gram Cottage cheese
- 1 piece Chicken egg
- 100 gram Butter
- 100 gram Sugar
- 2 teaspoons Orange
- 1 pack Vanilin
- 6 tablespoons Milk
- 1 pack Baking powder
- 400 gram Flour wheat / Flour
- 1 pack Glaze
- Sprinkles sweet shop to taste
- Marmalade in the stuffing, to taste
- Jam in the stuffing, I have a homemade currant, to taste
- Vegetable oil for deep-frying, the number depends on the size of your dishes
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix cottage cheese, milk, egg and sugar.
- Stir, add vanilla and zest (I have a ready-made dry one)
- Pour in the melted warm butter.
- Gradually add flour (it may take much less! It all depends on the humidity of the cottage cheese, the size of the egg, etc.), knead a smooth, soft, elastic dough - it almost does not stick to your hands.
- Here is such a ball turned out.
- Sprinkle the table very lightly with flour, roll out the dough into a circle not very thin, about 0.3-0.4 cm, cut out circles with a diameter of 8-9 cm.
- Now we put the filling on one circle - here I have marmalade, cover with a second circle and gently pinch the edges with a fork. If you do not score the dough with flour, the edges fit perfectly together, if they do not stick together, then lubricate the edges with milk and press down with a fork in a circle.
- Here, as a filling, I have a very thick homemade jam made of black currant.
- If we bake in the oven, then we put the crumpets on a baking sheet (forgot to take a picture of this stage), put them in a preheated 180C oven for 25-30 minutes, cool the finished crumpets.
- If you are going to deep fry them, then pour the oil into a frying pan with a thick bottom so that the muffins float in it, and heat it well. Then you need to reduce the heat to about medium (I still warmed up a lot and the puffs were a little "browned")). Fry on both sides until golden brown.
- We take out the finished donuts with a slotted spoon and spread them on paper towels to remove excess oil. Ready-made crumpets can be sprinkled with powdered sugar.
- Decorate the cooled donuts with icing, sugar balls and candy drops.
