- Before you put the cake in a heated oven, you can mix a spoonful of sugar with cinnamon and sprinkle Apple slices on top. I found this little (terrible sweet tooth), so floated and powdered sugar when the cake was ready. I baked it like a Charlotte: first 20 minutes at a temperature of 150 degrees, then the same at 180. The author of the recipe offered to put the cake in a preheated 200 degree oven for 40-45 minutes.
