- Pour the resulting mixture over the chicken and vegetables. Add 1 cup of hot water to the pot (if there is broth, then this is even better). Place in a preheated 180 degree oven and bake for about 50 minutes. Focus on your oven! You may need to cover the baking sheet with foil if the chicken starts to brown too much, or add a little more water if the rice is not liquid enough. It takes me 50 minutes for the rice to cook and it becomes crumbly, and the vegetables are soft. At the same time, I do not add water and do not cover with foil.
